Clase Magistral de Jazz: Greg Diamond. Guitarra

Greg Diamond es un guitarista de jazz contemporáneo, nació en Nueva York en el año 1977 de madre Colombiana y padre estadounidense. Greg empezó a estudiar por primera vez la guitarra a la edad de 13 años; después de haberse graduado en  los Estados Unidos, viajó a Bogotá donde estudió durante un año en la Fundacion Cristancho.
De regreso a Nueva York realizó sus estudios de pregrado y luego su master en Jazz en la Queens College en el año 2006.
En los últimos diez años Greg ha tocado en varios de los grandes clubes de jazz en Nueva York como lider de su propio grupo y también como acompañante. Entre ellos esta el: Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, Rose Theater (Jazz at Lincoln Center), Smalls Jazz Club, Tutuma Jazz Club, Nublu, y El Zinc Bar entre otros. En Septiembre del 2009 fue a Colombia con su grupo como invitado internacional en el festival Barranquijazz, y en el festival Jazz al Parque.
En el 2007, fué invitado entre un grupo de siete finalistas al Concurso de Guitarra Gibson International Jazz Guitar Competition, bajo el auspicio del Festival de Jazz de Montreux en Suiza. El jurado fué presidido por el gran maestro, George Benson.
Greg ha compartido escenario con personalidades tales como: Seamus Blake, Antonio Hart, Rolando Briceño, Emilio Solla, Michael Philip Mossman, Don Friedman, y Asha Puthli.
Su primer disco “Dançando Com Ale” se lanzo en Noviembre, y fué citado por la publicacion All About Jazz como “uno de los mejores albumes del año 2008…”.
